ABOUT THE FILM
World War II, France, an American pilot hangs helplessly from his parachute tangled in a massive tree. Soon, he is discovered by a group of orphaned children forced to survive by primitive and feral means. Separately, the pilot and the children fought for different causes in the same war. Now together, they will forge a connection that transcends language - and their cause will become one.

KILROY WAS HERE was written and directed by Charlie Boyles, produced by Laurka Marciniak Kobylanski and Dustin Bricker, with cinematography by Dave Martin, sound design by Zach Seivers, art direction by Rhea Lidowski, edited by Andrew Corvey, with an original score by Seth Neuffer. The film was produced by the University of North Carolina School of the Arts School of Filmmaking as a senior thesis film.
Writer/Director Charlie Boyles won two Angelus Awards for this film. He just completed an adaptation of a book called No Way Out, which chronicles a botched mission in Afghanistan in 2008, involving US and Afghan Special Forces. Fellow alumnus Eric Sherertz will be directing that film. Charlie is currently at work collaborating on a new screenplay with another fellow UNCSA graduate, Alex Thompson.
Co-Producer Laurka Marciniak Kobylanski now works in Business Affairs at HBO having begun her career with Richard Lovett at CAA, Laurka also worked for Alex Kurtzman and Bob Orci, as well as Aaron Ryder at FilmNation.
First A.D. Phil Kobylanski is now a Co-VP of Development at Valhalla Entertainment, overseeing one half of Valhalla’s television projects including “The Walking Dead” and its upcoming spin-off “Fear the Walking Dead,” and all of Valhalla’s feature film projects including the upcoming SEBASTIAN X.
Sound Designer Zach Seivers moved to Los Angeles and opened Snap Sound, an Emmy® award winning post production sound company with studios in Los Angeles, CA and New York, NY.
Editor Andrew Corvey moved to Los Angles and most recently worked as the After Effects editor for FREEWAY CITY and editor of the 2015 Grammy Prediction Special.
Composer Seth Neuffer, won a Gold Metal from the Park City Film Music Festival for his work on this film. He most recently composed for the television series “Believe” and the television movie “Wackademia”.
Cast lead R. Keith Harris is currently at work on a film he wrote, produced and starred in, SHIFTING GEARS.
Supporting actress Tori Lancaster, who plays Amelie, the older orphan girl, grew up to also attend UNCSA and graduated in May 2015 with a concentration in Production Design. Tori will be named one of “110 Students to Watch” in Variety’s Entertainment Education Report issue published on April 28, 2015.
