KCOS VIEWER GUIDE

By Craig A. Brush
President & General Manager,
KCOS-TV

Dear KCOS Member:

In fewer than 300 days, conventional analog broadcast television will suddenly and forever disappear in the United States on February 17, 2009. That is the firm date that has been set by Congress, and broadcasters throughout the country are in crises mode to insure that their respective operations will make the final transition to digital TV seamlessly.

Consumers – viewers like yourself must also prepare to insure that they will not be without television after the change. Toward that end KCOS is aggressively trying to educate our viewers with repeated television messages that provide vital information about the looming technological transformation. Additionally KCOS’s website (www.kcostv.org) has a direct link to the official website for digital television transition information, www.dtvanswers.com for both English and Spanish speakers.

KCOS still faces one last hurdle in order to meet its digital only mandate. Having secured a grant of nearly $500,000 to help enable KCOS to purchase equipment for its final digital build out we must raise slightly more then $300,000 to meet the grants matching obligation. In order to insure KCOS’s continued existence after February 2009 that sum must be raised over the next six months

If you would like information on how you can help KCOS at the critical time please feel free to call me at 590-1313. Thank you.

 Sincerely,

Craig A. Brush
President & General Manager
