Mission Statement

PBS El Paso inspires, informs, and educates viewers through quality educational programming, including locally produced shows that deeply resonate within our community.


History

Since 1978, PBS El Paso has been broadcasting non-commercial educational programs for the El Paso and Southern New Mexico regions via KCOS-TV, Channel 13.

PBS El Paso offers viewers a diverse range of high-quality programming, including 12 hours of enriching PBS KIDS shows on weekdays, comprehensive news coverage, compelling documentaries, and captivating performing arts. Local programming also includes El Paso Physician and our special digital series, Only in El Paso, which highlights local artists, visionaries, and inspiring leaders of the El Paso community. 

Through direct transmission via Channel 13 and Channel 12 (cable), KCOS-TV reaches a potential audience of 2 million people throughout regions of Texas, New Mexico, and Mexico. It has an average weekly audience of 200,000 viewers and a membership of about 2,000 people.
